Khoabane took no nonsense

Khoabane was one of the no nonsense players who left many of his opponents sprawling on the turf after a hard tackle during his playing days.

SEBOKENG.- Former SuperSport United midfielder, Peter “Fire” Khoabane was one of the no nonsense players who left many of his opponents sprawling on the turf after a hard tackle during his playing days.
Sedibeng Ster Sport went down memory lane with this former Vaal Professionals, Bush Bucks and Supersport United hard man from Zone 11 in Sebokeng. Khoabane was trusted by many coaches whom he played under for his hard working attributes.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Khoabane who is currently an SABC Radio analyst, said that he is grateful for playing for the legendary football clubs. He started his amateur football with Sebokeng Bush Bucks from Zone 11 and then proceeded to greater heights. At SuperSport United he played under Coach Pitso Mosimane.
Several of the great players he played alongside at SuperSport United were the late Thomas Madigage, Dain Klaite, Japie Motale, Pitso Lekone and Teko Modise to mention but a few.

Khoabane was known for his hard marking in the middle of the park that left many of his opponents limping.
He won silverware with SuperSport United such as the Absa Cup, SAA Cup and finished second in the African Championships.
He was also part of the Bafana-Bafana team that won COSAFA Cup.

Khoabane is still involved in football in the master’s league, showing his undying love for the game.
“Football is my life and this sport gave me everything. If it wasn’t for football people would not know about Peter Khoabane. My family was proud of me seeing me on national television. I gave all my best in football and I don’t have regrets. I made use of the talent that God gave me,” said Khoabane.
