BOSA Sedibeng has called a meeting this week for all tavern, shebeen, and pub owners of businesses that have been closed because of non-compliance.
This follows a tip-off received by SAPS members regarding a house in Bedworth Park operating in the illegal sale of liquor without a valid licence.
Police Spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda says, “Our FLASH members, Crime Prevention, Sector Commander, Reservists and Communication Officer proceeded to a house in Bedworth Park.
A manager of a liquor outlet was recently issued with a warning after police found him operating illegally without a licence.
On arrival members conducted their preliminary investigation which produced positive results about the trade of liquor without a licence.”
Funda adds that members seized liquor of an undisclosed amount and issued the manager with a written warning.
“The Acting Station Commander Colonel W. M Petsana commended members on a job well done.
Petsane further encouraged the community to report all crime related incidents to crime stop on 0800 10 111 or by using the MYSAPS app which can be downloaded to your phone.
