Murder suspect back in the dock in Spokgoane’s case again today

Yesterday’s bail application that lasted for one and a half hour saw the suspect, Asanele Bede remanded in custody to verify his residence.

VANDERBIJLPARK.  – A suspect in the murder case of a 39- year-old Spokgoane Nathaniel Mbele, was remanded in jail for further investigation by the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates court yesterday, 20 April. The suspect will be back to the dock again to apply for bail today, 21 April. Yesterday’s bail application that lasted for one and a half hour saw the suspect, Asanele Bede remanded in custody to verify his residence. The late Mbele from Bophelong was a proud member of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT). He was stabbed to death while walking alone in the late evening in Batswana street, Boipatong on 3 April. Outside the court members of the community picketed holding placards demanding the suspect be denied bail. The court has instructed the investigating officer, Sergeant Motaung of Boipatong police station to verify the physical address of the suspect.
