Vereeniging street vendors forced to close shop

VEREENIGING.- There is high police presence in the Vereeniging CBD.

It is alleged that the police arrived on Wednesday and told the street vendors that they should not operate on Thursday.
 
Police along side the Emfuleni Local Municipality By-Law Unit arrived this morning and removed  street vendors operating in Vereeniging.
 
The Vendors after being told by the police they could not operate, retaliated by closing down stores, including the Markpark Shopping Center.
 

As a result, the public has had to return home after finding some shops closed.
