Police nab robbery suspects with unlicensed firearms and ammunition

It was discovered that, apparently, the same vehicle is the one suspected to be conducting business robberies in the Vanderbijlpark areas.

VANDERBIJLPARK. – Six suspects are behind bars for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

Police Captain Oujan Mahoboko , Sargeant  Maboe and Captain Mbele were patrolling the Vanderbijlpark area when they spotted a suspicious white VW Polo recently. The police ordered the driver to pull off the road and as they continued to search the car, they found firearms and ammunition.

Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Gertrude Makhale said that it was discovered that, apparently, the same vehicle is the one suspected to be conducting business robberies in the Vanderbijlpark areas. Makhale said the suspects briefly appeared at the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates Court and the matter was postponed until 11 June for a bail hearing.

“They were all remanded into custody,” said Makhale.
