Suspects nabbed for robbery

The suspects aged 36 and 37 are from Eldorado Park in Johannesburg.

VANDERBIJLPARK. –  The police, community members, CPF members (patrollers) and Task Team members managed to nab two male suspects in SE 6, Vanderbijlpark yesterday, 17 June.

It is said that as the patrollers continued, on the day, a house robbery suspect fired in the direction of a patroller, this is after members of the community saw suspects getting into a white GLA200d Mercedes Benz.

Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Gertrude Makhale said it was suspected that the driver had just committed a house robbery in the area.

“A patroller was injured at the time suspects shot at him. The community and police started searching for the suspect’s vehicle around. Police later gave chase to a white Mercedes GLA 200. Two suspects tried to escape on foot on N1 but they were arrested,” Makhale said.

The suspects aged 36 and 37 are from Eldorado Park in Johannesburg.

The suspects were caught wearing a SAPS reflector jacket, a mask engraved with SAPS logo and had a police badge. A stolen firearm and a vehicle were found in possession of the two suspects.
