Lockdown level extension halts netball programme

They were ahead with their programme which included the selection of the Sedibeng Netball squads for the Championships.

SEDIBENG.- With President Cyril Ramaphosa extending Level 4 lockdown with another two weeks, sports activities remains prohibited. Netball activities that took place before lockdown have been suspended until further notice. Before lockdown there was hive of netball activities all over Sedibeng hosted by Sedibeng Netball Federation.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Sedibeng Netball Federation Chairperson, Fakazile Nkitseng said they had to suspend their programme after the president announced a nationwide lockdown two weeks ago. However, Nkitseng said they were ahead with their programme which included the selection of the Sedibeng Netball squads for the Championships including the Spar Championships for female and male squads. She said they have already given the selected players letters requesting sponsorship.

“We had to stop our programme after the President’s address two week ago, but the good thing is that we were have already selected our squads for the Championships and we are busy looking for sponsorship for our squads,” she told Sedibeng Ster Sport.
