Safa Sedibeng Women’s Regional League heats up

SEDIBENG.- Vaal Ladies FC is at the summit of the Safa Sedibeng Regional’s Women League with nine points after they played three games. The team consist of the most talented players with some of them persuading their studies at NWU Vaal. This Sharpeville based ladies team looks set to be crowned the Safa Sedibeng Regiona’s Women’s League taking into consideration the kind of players they have. Jabulile Tshabalala is one of the players who is carrying the team on her shoulders and apart from playing for Vaal Ladies FC, she is a student at NWU Vaal.
Elimagreen Ladies FC is second on the log with 7 points from the same number of the games as Vaal Ladies FC. The teams that will be crowned the champions at the end of the season stand a good chance to be promoted to the SAFA Sasol Women League to join the likes of VUT and NWU Vaal Ladies FC. At the moment these two teams, VUT and NWU Vaal, are the only teams competing in the Sasol Women League from Sedibeng.
However, as things stand, NWU Vaal Ladies looks set to be promoted to the National Women League if their current performance is anything to go by. They have been collecting points left, right and center. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Vaal Ladies FC coach, Lerato Motsoeneng said their aim is to win the league and campaign in the Sasol Women’s League next season. However, Motsoeneng told Sedibeng Ster Sport that it is ot going to be easy taking into consideration that they up against some ‘stubborn’ opponents in the league.
“Look, apart from winning the league, our aim is to develop national women team players who will make this region proud in future. Our main aim is to develop these young players to become super stars. For us it is not about winning but preparing these young girls for the future.” he said.
