
SEDIBENG.- The Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) ’s Super League season for 2020/2021 season came to an end over the weekend. This was a great season with the league divided into four streams namely, Sebokeng, Evaton, Boitshepiville and Vanderbijlpark.
The ELFA Competitions Convener ,Oupa Tladinyane described this season as a great success. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Tladinyane said having the four streams showed that football is growing in Emfuleni.
Tladinyane further said that the standard of football was very high this season in all four streams with the league in some streams having to be decided in the last game of the season in particular the Vanderbijlpark stream.
Atlentico FC was crowned the league champions in this stream with Nale Academy and Waya Waya FC finishing second and third placed respectively on the log. Manchester United FC were declared the champions in Boitshepiville Stream while Morning Stars FC were crowned the league champions in the Evaton Stream. Mighty Blues FC were crowned the league champions in Sebokeng Stream.
“I must say we had a great season and I’m happy that we achieve our objective to have more numbers of teams that football structure. It was encouraging to see the teams that used to play tournaments only joining the league. I’m very excited because it is the association’s objective to see the number of teams competing in the football structure. I want to thank all the teams for for making this league a success. I also want to take this opportunity to congratulate those teams who are the league champions in the four streams. But for those who didn’t make it, there is always a second time to say the least,” said Tladinyane.
Meanwhile, all the Super League teams are invited to attend a meeting at the Community Hall on September 5 at 9:00. Toping the agenda is to reflect on the 2020/2021 season and in preparation for the coming season.
