VEREENIGING.- A man in his 20s was critically injured last night when he was struck by a minibus on the R82 in Vereeniging.

At 18:45, ER24 arrived and found the man lying in the middle of the road. The vehicle that had struck the man was parked a short distance away.

Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained a significant head injury and was in a critical condition. The man was treated and provided with advanced life support before being transported to Sebokeng Provincial Hospital for urgent care.

The driver of the vehicle, fortunately, escaped injury.

This incident was reported to the local authorities.
