Boiketlong community celebrates heritage in style

One should undermine it at his or her own peril as there are many talents in the area.

SEBOKENG. – It’s true that Boiketlong is an informal squatter camp but one should undermine it at his or her own peril as there are many talents in the area.

This was proven by the youth of Boiketlong Community Center as they took time they showcase their talents and left many in the audiences on the edges of their seats as they celebrated the Heritage day on 24 September. The function was hosted under a temporary white tent to accommodate and try to keep the social distance.

Matshediso Malope, a Caregiver at the centre, said the it has taken efforts for the group members to organise and combined their talents to showcase to the parents.

Director of the centre Lehlohonolo Sekonyela said it has taken three months for the preparations.  The centre is dealing with health, social issues as well as health talk and home based care. It also assists children with their homework.
