“We will prove a point in the ballot box”: Angry residents

"The ruling party must leave us alone."

SEBOKENG. – “Why must we celebrate  Heritage Day when our rights to elect our own ward councillors were rigged? There’s nothing to enjoy and to be proud of. The ruling party must leave us alone.” This was the statement made by disgruntled and desperate community members of the Sebokeng Hostel during Heritage Day. “We will prove a point and exercise our rights at the ballot box. Come the local government elections on 1 November 2021.” The unhappy residents of Ward 17 continued to barricade part of the Moshoeshoe Road near SebokengPlaza for two consecutive days. The angry residents said they are not happy on how the ANC treats them.
