The Glowing Group aims high

“We want to make a difference in the community and dispel the myth that today’s youth does not have a future. We aim to set an example.”

SEBOKENG. – Although most young people tend to be mischievous, a group of youngsters from New Village and Zone 12 in Sebokeng has chosen to take a more positive approach to life. The group, which is a mix of young girls and boys aged between 13 and 18 years, is called ‘The Glowing Group’. They perform traditional dances and sketches at traditional weddings, parties and competitions. They started performing in 2014. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, the group said that they are committed to making a difference in their community, seeing that their peers have resorted to alcohol and drug abuse. “All that we need is the support of the community in any shape and form. The group is in desperate need of support in any form so that they can continue doing what they love and staying out of trouble. “We want to make a difference in the community and dispel the myth that today’s youth does not have a future. We aim to set an example,” they said.   *Should you wish to contribute to their development, kindly call 063 719 9562.
