SEDIBENG.- Vaal Professionals and NWU Vaal FC had a bad start in the 2021/2022 Gauteng ABC Motsepe League Stream A.
NWU Vaal FC has lost three of their opening games while Vaal Pros has lost two.

Last season NWU Vaal FC was fighting for survival and escaped relegation with the skin of their teeth. At the end of the season the NWU Vaal Football Manager, Thomas Thema even announced the university’s intention to sell the club’s status. On the other hand, Vaal Professionals FC had a great season, last season, as they even went all the way to be crowned the champions in their stream but failed to qualify for the national play-offs.

This is a contradicting performance for Vaal Pros taking into consideration their last season performance.
As things stand, these are only two teams that campaign in the ABC Motsepe League in this region.
Many believe that if these two teams get relegated at the end of the season, it would be ten step backward for the region.
