SEBOKENG.- Refiloe Mfene has been selected to represent Sedibeng in the 2021 Spar U/21 and Senior National Netball Championship scheduled to take place in Cape Town from 6-12 December. However, this 20 years old Diphetogo Netball club player from Evaton is desperate to raise an amount of R4 900 for accommodation and uniform.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Mfene said that if she doesn’t raise the above-mentioned amount her dream to compete at the National Netball Championships would be shattered.
She told Sedibeng Ster Sport that it has always been her dream to participate at the highest level of netball for South Africa to witness her talent and impress the netball national team selectors. This Spar U/21 and National Netball Championships is an opportunity for the players and officials to participate in this prestigious tournament where they can also be selected for the South Africa Netball National Team.
Mfene appeals to the Sedibeng community, especially companies and businesses to come to her rescue to make her dream come true.
“This is a lifetime opportunity, and I can’t afford to miss out this opportunity to compete at the highest netball tournament. Look, every player wants to be part of this championship and to compete against the best in the country. It is very difficult to raise such an amount because some of us come from a difficult background,” she told Sedibeng Ster Sport. Sedibeng Netball Federation Chairperson, Fakazile Nkitseng said that all the players and officials have to raise funds for players uniform and accommodation.
