Five injured after security van and bakkie collide in Vanderbijlpark

ER24 reports that  a 24-year-old man was critically injured when his  bakkie collided with  a security van on Ravel Street in Vanderbijlpark over the weekend.

VANDERBIJLPARK. – .”ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene along with SAPS at 09:29 to find the driver of the bakkie, a 24-year-old man, lying in the road. Two children of 3 or 4 years of age had been removed from the vehicle and were in the arms of onlookers.

“The man had suffered critical injuries and required Advanced Life Support (ALS) interventions to stabilise his condition. He was flown by another private service’s medical helicopter to a private hospital for further emergency care.”

The two children, a boy and a girl, suffered serious injuries and also required ALS  before they could be transported to Mediclinic Emfuleni for further treatment.

Two security guards from the van were found to have suffered minor injuries and were also treated and transported to hospital by another service on the scene.
