My wish for you and I in 2022
Over the past two years, since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have had to adapt and change the way we live so that we can evolve with time. This has taught me and those close to me that unity, patience and communication are very important tools of survival.
Dear loyal reader
When I started practicing in this field, professionally back in the 90’s, I never thought that the world would change so much, so quickly.
Oh, it has!
My last born will be starting Grade 1 in the coming days of 2022, and my eldest is left with just mere months to be in tertiary from now on (counting down).
Journalism has always been mine, and my family’s passion and the delight and joy it has brought into my life can never, never, ever be enough.
I have dreamt of this, and it is indeed a dream that I have been given this platform to fulfil it.
My former school/classmates/friends, Ma Ets, Thabiso, Papi and Kadi, at Residensia Secondary School (States), (I remember them as though it was yesterday), can attest to this.
Enough about me!
When we welcome 2022, we should remember who we are, where we come from, the dreams we have and, where we eventually want to be as people, individually that is!
Over the past two years, since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have had to adapt and change the way we live so that we can evolve with time.
This has taught me and those close to me that unity, patience and communication are very important tools of survival.
Many have lost their loved ones; some have lost jobs and many lives have been disrupted by Covid-19.
I am sure that we are all aware of the times we live in, Omicron is with us, and I am not the one to teach you about the safety precautions that you should take against it.
You know what should be done!
Please keep your distance, sanitize, wash your hands regularly, but most importantly go and vaccinate.
For those who are fortunate enough to have, and be with family at this time, value the time, have quality time.
It has not happened for many years, but this year,
I would like to make a wish this Festive Season.
My wish this Festive Season is that we enjoy it safely!
My wish this Festive Season/Christmas is that we stand tall and face the challenges that we face daily.
My wish for this Festive Season is that we stand tall and be proud of who we are as people, that where we have wronged people, they should find it in their hearts to forgive us.
We are only human!
2022 should come with gifts, and our wishes should be fulfilled.
The New Year should come with whatever a brighter life.
That is important, in these trying times.
I believe that when you ask and only when you ask, you shall be given.
To my dearest departed Father, my Mother, my beloved Wife, my children, my relatives, my colleagues and you, my dearest reader, THANKS for the support.
I am not going to take too much of your time so let me end it at this.
A Merry X-mas and a fruitful 2022 to you and your loved ones.
Aluta!
Romans 8:31
“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Love, Peace and Harmony!
