DBE scraps publishing of matric results on all public platforms

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has scraped the publication of Matric results on all public platforms.

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has scraped the publication of Matric results on all public platforms.

DBE Spokesperson Elijah Mhlanga says, ” The usual practice of publishing exam results on public platforms will not occur for 2021.”

The announcement comes after the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), which came into effect on 01 July

DBE says it respects the right to privacy to protect the unlawful collection, retention, dissemination and use of personal information.

“As was also the practice in previous years, all learners will be required to obtain their Statements of Results from their respective schools.”

Matric results are due to be released on 21 January 2022.
