SEDIBENG.- THe Safa Sedibeng SAB League 2021/2022 season started over the weekend with goals galore at various venues in Sedibeng. These were the first games of the year with some highs and lows while some new promoted teams suffered heavy defeats. The newly promoted Savanna FC suffered a 11-0 defeat at the hands of Perfect Academy in the Safa Sedibeng SAB League match played at George Thabe Stadium on Saturday. It was goals galore with Savanna FC offering no resistance. At the half time the score was 4-0 in favour of the home team, Perfect Academy. In another, game, VUT FC started their Safa Sedibeng SAB League campaign on a high note when they beat their bitter rival Vaal Milano FC 4-0 in a game that took place at Isak Steyl Stadium over the weekend. This two-side have history and every time they meet it is more than three points at stake but pride. Prior to this fixture, these two teams’ representative exchanged heated words promising fireworks and this game lived to expectation with fans especially those VUT students witnessing an exciting affair. However, in the second half “The Students” were in control as the visitors ran out of their legs due to the heavyness of the field. VUT students came in numbers to support their team and were chanting on the stands to motivate their team which never disappointed.
