ER24 reports that a man was killed and three others injured following a collision between a bakkie and a truck.
The incident happened on the R54, outside Vaal Marina On Monday.
Upon ER24’s arrival, the Free State Emergency Services were already in attendance.
“A large truck was seen on the side of the road with a bakkie smashed partially beneath the front.
“On closer inspection, paramedics found a man lying trapped inside the bakkie. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to numerous injuries and was declared dead.”
The Free State EMS assessed three other patients from the bakkie. “A woman and an 11-year-old boy were in critical condition, while a 7-year-old boy had sustained moderate injuries.”
Patients were treated and transported to nearby hospitals for urgent care. Authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
