ER24 and other services arrived at 10h30 to find the local authorities already in attendance.

In a statement Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst said a security van was found in the middle of the road while several light motor vehicles were parked a short distance away on the side of the road. Two vehicles had caught alight in the collision.

“On closer inspection, medics found a man lying a short distance from one car. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to the gunshot wound to his head. Nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead.”

Three security officers were also assessed and found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries.”
The men were treated and transported to nearby hospitals for urgent care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
