Stolen vehicle suspects arrested

SASOLBURG. – Two suspects aged 26 and 39 from Thembisa in Erkhuruleni are behind bars charged with possession of suspected stolen vehicle and house breaking implements.

Sasolburg Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Josephine Rani said the suspects briefly appeared on 2 March at the Heilbron Magistrate’s court. The matter were postponed for further investigation and for bail application.

It is alleged that the suspects were spotted in the early hours around. 02:55 through Belrex camera system operators at the Heilbron farms. The camera noticed two Toyota hilux bakkies that were reported stolen in Reitz on their systems. The farmers gave chase and activated the Heilbron SAPS, Fezile Dabi District Task Team and neighboring police stations. The law enforcement agencies joined and gave chased up until the R57 near Lion Farm. They managed to arrests two suspects out of the bushes. The suspects had abandoned one of the stolen Toyota hilux bakkies.

Police managed to arrest one suspect who was driving the second Toyota Hilux bakkie. In the midst there was a second suspect who was driving a Toyota corolla escorting the suspects. The vehicles, two Toyota Hilux bakkies, and the silver Toyota Corolla were confiscated.
