Elite Sports Academy to make debut in GDL

SEDIBENG.- Remember Elite Sports Academy will make their debut in the Gauteng Development League (GDL) 2021/2022 season when they visit Kaizer Chiefs at Naturena, in Johannesburg on Saturday.

They will represent Sedibeng in this league which consists of the PSL academies among other development teams.

Remember Elite Sports Academy was promoted to GDL at the end of the season after they finished at the top of the Stream B. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Remember Elite Sports Academy Director Xolani Mathumba said he is excited to represent Sedibeng in this development league and that this means a lot for the development of football in Sedibeng.

Mathumba said that they are looking forward to the game against Kaizer Chiefs at Naturena and that he expects a tough encounter against Chiefs ‘babies’.

“As RESA we are very excited to represent Sedibeng and we are looking forward to make our region proud.  This means a lot for the development of football in this region to have a team that competes in the GDL. This means the likes of Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, Jomo Cosmos, TS Galaxy and other development academies will now come to play at President Park Stadium in Vereeniging.”

Remember Elite Sports Academy will be home next Saturday when they host Jozi Stars FC at President Park. Even though spectators are not allowed, Mathumba said they have a plan to accommodate fans.
