RESA make their debut in the Gauteng Development League

“As RESA we are very excited to represent Sedibeng and we are looking forward to make our region proud."

SEDIBENG.- Remember Elite Sports Academy (RESA) made their debut in the Gauteng Development League (GDL) 2021/2022 season when they suffered a heavy defeat over Kaizer Chiefs at Naturena, in Johannesburg over the weekend.

Despite the heavy defeat, RESA made this region proud as the only development team to campaign in this league after being promoted at the end of last season.

They were promoted to GDL after they finished at the top of the Stream B. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, RESA Director, Xolani Mathumba said that he is excited to represent Sedibeng in this development league and that this means a lot for the development of football in Sedibeng. Mathumba said that they are looking forward to competing against the best academies in the country.

“As RESA we are very excited to represent Sedibeng and we are looking forward to make our region proud. This means a lot for the development of football in this region to have a team that competes in the GDL. We will be welcoming these academies to our home, President Park Stadium in Vereeniging.” RESA will be home this Saturday hosting Jozi Stars FC. Even though spectators are not allowed, Mathumba said they have a plan to accommodate the fans.
