Children are tomorrow’s future!

VEREENIGING.- The Gauteng Provincial Government, the Department of Education (D7 and D8) together with the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) recently held a “Read Loud” competition at the Vereeniging Library in Vereeniging.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Vereeniging Librarian, Lehlohonolo Seboko said that the main purpose of the competition was to teach children how to read. The competition was for Grade 4’s from different schools in D7 and D8. They were taught to read in English, Southern Sotho and Xhosa.
“As a municipality we are very grateful to be playing such a fruitful role in the lives of these children. We are preparing them for the future. They are the leaders of the future,” Seboko said. The winners in different categories received medals and certificates.
