Midvaal takes service delivery to Riversdale
RIVERSDALE. - Midvaal Local Municipality Mayor Peter Teixeira rolled up his sleeves to help paint roads and remove grass and weeds from kerbs during the weekly Mayoral Service Delivery Thursday campaign which was again held Thursday 17 March 2022.
This week councillors, officials and workers from the municipality visited Riversdale in Ward 13 of the municipality to ensure service delivery in the area.
Now in its fifth week the Mayoral Service Delivery program aims to concentrate workers in one area so that service delivery can be noted and felt by the people on the ground.
This week the focus was on Riversdale. Speaking to Ster North during the service delivery visit, Teixeira described Riversdale as a diverse ward which include rural and semi-rural areas.

During the visit workers from various divisions of the municipality marked roads, repaired potholes, did some cleaning and assisted with the grading of gravel roads.

Streetlights were also repaired and grass cutting as well of the cutting of branches formed part of this week’s campaign. Workers from several departments of the Midvaal Local Municipality, including Roads Department, Electrical Department, Waste Management Department, and the Parks Department assisted with the work.

According to Mayor Teixeira five wards in the municipality has already been covered in the past few weeks. The municipality still has 10 wards left to tend to and will tackle those wards in the coming weeks.
