BOIPATONG.- Former women soccer players gathered at Boipatong Stadium to participate in a one day soccer tournament.
This tournament was initiated by former X-20 Ladies FC player, Lorraine Montsho with the main aim of bringing former woman soccer players under one umbrella. It was a great atmosphere and as always the Boipatong community came in numbers to support this initiative.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sports, Montsho said that some of the former players are desperately in need of help because they are not working. She told Sedibeng Ster Sports that they want to create jobs for the former players to coach at school level.

She revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sports that she will recommend someone of them to attend coaching courses so that they can get coaching jobs.
“I want to thank these former women soccer players for honouring my invitation to be part of this initiative. It was a great success and I was happy to see that they are still in great shape. Look, some of them can still play at highest level of football. It is sad because some of them are not working and we want to help them as much as we can,” she said.
Montsho also told Sedibeng Ster Sports that this tournament was also part of reviving women football in this region. She said women football is no longer the same as it was during their playing days. She added that there is a serious need to revive women football in the community including at school level. The aim of the tournament was also to collect sanitary towels for young girls.
