Banyana Banyana suffer 5-1 defeat to Netherlands

Netherlands took the game to Banyana Banyana and they went to half time leading 3-1.

SEDIBENG.- Banyana Banyana suffered a 5-1 to Netherlands in an international friendly match played on Tuesday night.

This heavy defeat is not a true reflection of the game as Banyana Banyana put up a brave fight especially in the first half. Banyana Banyana showed class in the first half with Thembi Kgatlana running riot with the Netherlands defenders and scoring an equaliser for Banyana Banyana after Netherlands took an early lead.

However, Netherlands took the game to Banyana Banyana and they went to half time leading 3-1. Banyana Banyana could have scored in the second half from a penalty spot, but Noko Matlou missed. Banyana Banyana Coach Desiree Ellis made some changes giving  young players a run as she used this game as a African Women Cup of Nations preparation game scheduled to take place in Morocco in June.
