Man (30) sentenced to 30 years for minors’ rape

The accused will be registered in the sexual offenders' register.

EVATON.- Sibusiso Ronald Sibeko (30) was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment for rape in the Sebokeng Magistrate Court recently.

It is said that the accused raped a 4-year-old girl at Evaton North on the 12th December 2019.  Police Spokesperson Constable Thulisile Msibi said that on the same day in the evening the mother of a victim realised that her child is complaining about pains on her private part while bathing her.

“She interrogated her child and the child revealed her ordeal. The accused was apprehended on the 27th of December 2019.  The good conviction is a result of a diligent work done by the Investigating Officer (IO) Sergeant Nelson Mwale of Sebokeng Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit (FCS). We hope this sentence will scare away the offenders from abusing children.”

Sibeko’s name will be registered in the National Register of Sexual Offenders.
