Boipatong SAPS takes services to community

The Boipatong SAPS Social Crime Prevention, Communication, Sector commanders,Victim empowerment Center (Indibano) and Community Patrollers conducted a ‘Taking services to the community’ and door to door crime awareness campaign recently.

BOIPATONG.- Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela said that the campaign focused was to be stationery at Phase 5 in Sector one by certifying documentation of community members or vulnerable groups which are people living with disability and eldery people.

“The above team adddress Gender based violence, Domestic Violence, Sexual offences, Human trafficking, Alcohol and substance abuse and crime in general. The community was also sensitized not to have proper fence , not to leave valuable properties in the vehicles and to make sure that their vehicles are locked and in a secure area at all times.”

Maxambela added that most of the house breaking which occured in the area is where criminals targeted house with aluminum windows and doors. Informative pamphlets on GBV, Human trafficking, Child Abuse/ bullying ,neglect and Sexual offences were distributed.
