Woman fears for her life after she was kidnapped in Sharpeville
36-year-old Nomahlubi Magobolo fears for her life after she was kidnapped in Sharpeville. Magobolo says she was on her way to a local internet cafe to print her CV when an unknown vehicle stopped next to her. A man from the vehicle forcefully pulled her into the car, after which, the vehicle fled away.
SHARPEVILLE. – “There were two African males in the car and they instructed me not to scream. They closed my mouth with a green cloth and pushed me down in the car so that people don’t see me.”
Magobolo says she woke up when the car stopped at a veld next to the Vanderbijlpark Cemetery.
“I asked the men what they wanted from me and they said they were only doing a job my ex-boyfriend had sent them to do.
“I asked them what that job was and they said they had been sent to finish me off. They took me out of the car and tied me to a tree inside the veld. A few moments later they left but promised they would come back to finish the job.”
Magobolo says later she heard voices and screamed for help. The person who responded did not untie Magobolo but told her that he would be back with help.
“He called other people and they called the Boipatong Police to the scene. The police are the ones who untied me.”
Magobolo says she recently broke up with her boyfriend of four years and fears that he could have been behind the abduction.
“I’m very scared after what happened. I can’t sleep or even walk to the shops by myself because of what happened.”
Police Spokesperson Constable Busisiwe Sango confirmed that a kidnapping case docked had been launched for investigation.
“No arrest has been made by investigations in the matter are ongoing.”
