Pupil raped on her way home from school

The  police in De Deur have launched a rape case docket following the rape of a pupil last week Tuesday. 

DE DEUR. – Police spokesperson Sergeant Maria Letsele reports that the victim was walking alongside a road in Kanana Park when a grey vehicle driven by an African male stopped beside her.

“The man asked the learner about a certain school in the area and she gave him direction, he then told her that he is actually looking for a place selling electricity but she told him she doesn’t know.”

According to Letsele, the man took out a firearm, pointed it at the learner and instructed her to get into the vehicle.

“He subsequently drove to an open veld and raped her. When he was done he drove back and dropped the learner off while threatening her.

“The victim ran home to report the incident to her mother and neighbour. The incident was reported to De Deur Saps.”

Letsele states that a case of rape has been opened for investigation.

“The person on the photo can assist police with the investigation. Anyone who might know his whereabouts can contact the Investigation Officer, Sergeant Ramonne Mareletse on 063 446 8046 and 016 450 2566.”
