Recycler stabbed and killed in Sharpeville

The Sharpeville police have launched a murder investigation following the brutal murder of recycler, Moeketsi Hlangusa (24) who was stabbed and killed in Tshepiso, Divencheng recently.

SHARPEVILLE. – His brother Tshidiso Mashiloane (33) said he was called to the scene by members of the community after his brother was stabbed.

“My friends and I rushed to the scene and on arrival, we found my brother in a critical condition. He looked like he was out of breath and died shortly after that,” he said.

Mashiloane states that witnesses on the scene told him that his brother had been assaulted by a man who is popular for bullying people in the area and did not fight back.

“Following the assault, the man took out a knife, stabbing my brother in the back and fled to the scrapyard.”

It is reported that the suspect was fetched by members of the community from the scrapyard after he fled.

Mashiloane says the incident has left the family in shock and devastation as they do not understand why the man had to stab Hlangusa after he refused to fight him.

“We are deeply saddened by this incident. My brother was a humble soul but he was killed like an animal.”

The family has since called for justice in the matter.

Sharpeville police spokesperson Constable Busisiwe Sango confimed that a suspect had been arrested and charged with murder.

“A murder case docket has been launched for further investigation.”
