Taxi violence claims another life in Vaal

It is said that taxi violence has claimed a life of a 31-year-old driver, another two survived the shooting in Tshepiso, Phase 5, Sharpeville yesterday, 10 August.

BOIPATONG.- All this happened at around 18:30 while three taxi owners were patrolling the President Hyper to Sharpeville route. Police Spokesperson, Sargeant Nombulelo Mohlakoana said that due to loadshedding the drivers decided to go home and rest.

“The owners were on their way to Tshepiso Phase 5. At a four way stop sign in Tshepiso opposite Boxer Super Markert, they stopped and waited for one of their drivers. Just after they stopped opposite Boxer, a white vehicle started to shoot at them. One died on the scene whilst two were taken to hospital. The suspects are unknown.”

The case is being investigated.
