Midvaal is working hard to resolve power interruption in Ward 2: Mayor Teixeira
The Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM) Mayor Peter Teixeira has apologised for any inconvenience caused to residents following a fire that broke out at a substation in Rissiville leaving parts of ward 2 without electricity.
MIDVAAL. – Teixeira visited the substation on Thursday afternoon to assess the damage caused by the fire.
“I engaged with members of the engineering department who have been on the scene working hard to resolve the power outage. The department is aware of the misinformation that was circulated regarding the estimated time to resolve the power interruption.
“We can assure our residents that assessments have already been done in the morning to ascertain the damage caused by the fire to the substation components. Teixeira state that messages that were circulated saying the substation will take 7 days to repair are unfounded and not official updates from MLM.
“The municipality will continue to provide updated estimated times of restoration throughout the day tomorrow. We apologize to our residents for any inconvenience this has caused and are working hard to ensure that power is restored speedily.”
