ORANGE FARM. – The dramatic killing happened in broad daylight in Extension 7b where the deceased was overpowered and killed with his own weapon.
According to the family, Seeiso was his normal self when he left but 30 minutes later, they got a call from friends that he was killed.
When the family arrived at the scene parked by scores of bystanders, they found him lying in a pool of blood facing the ground.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, father, Fikile Chatsane (58) said he heard someone entering the house around 8:00 in the morning.
“Seeiso entered the house in the morning, when I went to check, he had already gone out. I ran after him and found him with the weapon.
“When I asked him, he spoke to me with a soft tone that nothing was wrong, but he was coming back alive,” said the father.
Fikile said before 8:30, he was fetched by Seeiso’s friend who was visibly shaking, claiming that his son was hurt.
“I got to the scene and found my son lying on the ground in a pool of blood facing down. I was shaken by how he looked. His body was still hot,” he added.
“I asked what had happened but no one who tell. My son was killed in broad daylight and no one saw what happened. One parent said my son is the one who started the fight, I understand she is a parent of one of the suspects,” he said.
Moipone Seeiso Chatsane (33) was hacked to death in Orange Farm after he left his home with a barbed-wire bat to avenge his enemy.
(55) mother to the deceased said they are still in shock.
“I don’t know what to make of this situation. My son came to my magwinya shop in the morning and that was the last I saw of him. Now he will be coming home in a coffin. All I want is justice. I just want to know what happened that lead him to be deserving of being murdered,” he said.
Following the scene in Extension 7b, residents gathered outside the house of the arrested suspected killer. Many wanted his blood but police intervened.
Police spokeswoman Constable Busisiwe Sango says a case of murder was opened and a suspect has been arrested.
“Police were called to the scene and they managed to arrest a suspect following the murder incident. Investigations into the incident are underway,” she said.
