Baby’s body discovered in burnt bag

The police in Vanderbijlpark have launched an inquest case docket following the discovery of a body of a baby in a burnt bag. 

VANDERBIJLPARK. – The incident happened near Rosashof plots on Mandela Road.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Gertrude Makhale reports that police were called to the scene on 19 August where they were shown a burnt bag with a body of a male baby inside.

“On arrival in Extension 12, bystanders showed the police the black bag with the baby inside.”

Makhale says  police now urgently need the relatives, family and witnesses to come forward.

“Anyone who knows someone who had a baby recently and identified that the baby is now missing must please come forward and assist police with their investigation.

“Members of the community who may have a missing family member can contact Warrant Officer Ferreira on 0834170417/ (016) 910-9034 or go to Sebokeng Mortuary next to Sebokeng SAPS to identify the body.”
