VEREENIGING. -Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda confirmed that a murder case docket was launched for investigation following the gruesome incident.
Funda says, “It is alleged that the 19-year-old deceased was walking to the taxi rank from school when he met a 17-year-old suspect on Merriman Street.
“The suspect took out a knife and stabbed the deceased once on the chest .The deceased was rushed to Mediclinic Vereeniging by an ambulance. He was certified dead on arrival at the hospital.
“The suspect was arrested and detained at Vereeniging SAPS, ” Funda concludes.
