Scrapyard owner calls cops on stolen copper sellers

A scrapyard owner from Boipatong has been commended for his loyalty after calling the police when three suspects attempted to sell him stolen copper cables recently.

BOIPATONG. – Police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela says, “Suspects visited the scrapyard with the intention to sell the copper and the owner immediately called the police.

“He must be commended for his loyalty towards his community as a bussiness man.”

Maxambela confirms that three suspects were subsequently arrested.

In another incident, Maxambela reports that a suspect was arrested after he was found in possession of stolen copper at Frikkie Meyer Boulevard.

“Our community patrollers were patrolling hot spot areas in the precinct. While searching, they found a man in possession of stolen copper.

“We commend our community in blue for their excellent work. All arrested suspects will soon make an appearance in court.”
