Vereeniging- According to police spokeswoman Constable Tlaleng Moloi, at about 12:00 during the day, Vereeniging SAPS members Seargent Moloi and Seargent Khumalo followed up an information of house robbery at Plot no: 22 Uitvlig road  Vereeniging area.

“On arrival at the said location, members got information from the complainant who is a domestic worker that the suspects pointed her with firearm, demanded her cell phone and the safe key. They then took a riffle and ran away towards Vaal River by foot,” she said.

Moloi said their members followed the suspects and apprehended them next to Vaal River.

“Two illegal firearms, riffle and 9mm and victim’s cell phone number were found in their possession. Suspects were arrested at the scene for house robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition,” she said.

Moloi said the suspects will appear before Magistrate court soon facing charges of house robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and unlawful possession of ammunition.
