GAUTENG.- Reports indicate that two heavy motor vehicles and two light motor vehicles were involved in a collision.

It was alleged that a truck lost control down a steep road, coming from Krugersdorp, crashing into multiple vehicles. When medics arrived on scene, they found that one person, an adult male, trapped in the front cab of one of the trucks. Another patient, an adult male, was found trapped inside a car. Multiple other patients were found across the scene. All the patients were treated on scene by advanced life support paramedics, while fire and rescue services used hydraulic tools to free the two trapped patients.

Sadly, one of the patients showed no signs of life and was declared deceased on the scene. Two other patients were airlifted to the hospital by Netcare 911 helicopter. Once treated and stabilised, the two other patients were transported by ground ambulance to hospital for further care.
