15-year-old pupil raped on Vanderbijlpark school premises

The Sedibeng Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit has launched an investigation after a 15-year-old girl was raped on the premises of a school in Vanderbijlpark.

VANDERBIJLPARK. –  Police spokesperson Sergeant Gertrude Makhale reports that the incident happened On Friday June 29, at about 10:45 in the boy’s bathroom.

Makhale says, “The perpetrator is an unknown older African male who was wearing a  jacket matching that of the school. The suspect threatened the victim before raping her.”

Makhale states that during the ordeal, the  frightened victim tried to scream but eventually realised that no one was coming to rescue her.

“It was further reported by the victim that she noticed that the man was wearing a school jersey resembling that of another school in Vanderbijlpark underneath the jacket.

“SAPS cannot rule out that this suspect targets girls who are making use of bathrooms at different schools.”

Makhale confirms that this is the second incident reported to Vanderbijlpark SAPS where a learner has been raped on  school premises.

“We  would like to urge anyone who may recognise or know the suspect on the identikit to please contact Constable Masemola on (016) 450-2624 or 0716756272,” Makhale concludes.
