Sebokeng hospital workers embarked on a breast cancer awareness fun walk

Scores of Sebokeng Hospital workers walked from the nurse’s home in the hospital precinct to Zone 14 (Engen and BP garage) in a Cancer awareness march on Friday, 28 October, 2022.

SEBOKENG – Dressed in pink T-shirt, tutus dressed and sneakers, the walking crowd distributed pamphlets during their walk.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Communications Officer Lerato Sedulawesi said “we want the community to be aware about breast cancer and that early detection saves lives so as the hospital we are also offering free screening for women who are 50 years and above until the end of November”.

Sedulawesi said not only hospital stuff formed part of the walk, but some community members as well.

“The walk started from Nurses home to BP and engine garages in Sebokeng zone 14. Staff from all departments in the hospital were involved and few community members,” she said.

Sebokeng hospital workers embarked on a fun walk to give awareness on breast cancer.

“Our plan is to extend an invite to more community members and nearest departments so that we can be able to reach more public and make it big.

The message should reach everyone. It was a free entry kind of walk. We issued posters to help us inform staff and the community,” she said.

The entourage was escorted by Emfuleni Local Municipality.
