Sergeant Maketekete dedicates her latest awards to CFP colleagues!

She has won many awards in the past.

BOIPATONG – And now, she feels her latest ones belongs to her colleagues and family.

Boipatong’s number one cop, Sergeant Mapaseka Maketekete has dedicated her newest awards to the Community Policing Forum (CPF) based at her station.

Scooping the Woman of the year award at Gauteng Province and a Special Award from the Gauteng provincial police commissioner General Elias Mawela for crime fighting during the awards held at Montana in Pretoria recently, Maketekete received said she can’t be proud enough.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, famously known as Mpase, the cop said she will continue to garner awards through her profession because she leaves no stone unturned when she’s on the field.

“I know my Code of Conduct with my heart and when I am bored, I read it to further understand my duties and why I am in this field. This is the only thing that brings me the burning desire of serving my employer,” she said.

Maketeke is now at Vispol social crime prevention as a coordinator of patrols, CPF and youth desk.

She has worked with many other departments including communications at De Deur copshop and coordinator of social crime prevention.

As she wins awards Beke Le Beke, Maketekete said she overwhelmed.

“I am happy and can’t explain how I feel right now. These are special awards because the previous ones I have won, I always dedicated them to myself. These awards are dedicated to my colleagues in CPF and the community of Boipatong for the support they give me and the other I dedicate it to my family who bear with my busyness and dedication on my work. Without these pillars of strength, I wouldn’t do my duties without these two individuals in my life.”

Maketekete is sitting at her sixth award with includes Woman of the year for both provincial and district, first runner at national. She then again received woman of the year at district, woman of the year provincial and Special Award.

“I am currently waiting for the national awards which I have high hopes that I will also win,” said the self-proud police.

Receiving the recognition and the dedication awards from Maketekete, Chairperson of CPF Maniki Ntsepe said “this is one dedicate police woman who serves her people with love. She deserves her awards because of her commitment. She leads us from the front and she never takes us like her juniors, but her equals. We are happy that she dedicates one of her awards to us, this will make us work tirelessly to also scoop awards”.
