The campaign's message was spread against Gender Based Violence (GBV) against women and children.

SEDIBENG.- This door-to-door awareness campaign was led by the Vanderbijlpark SAPS Sector Manager, Captain Engelburtus Van der Ryst together with the CPF Chairperson, David Ndindwa, and Manana Thoka together with Daleen Coetzee from Ward 9 Committee.
The campaign’s message was spread against Gender Based Violence (GBV) against women and children with most of the cases reported related to abuse and assaults in the area, this was revealed to Sedibeng Ster by Van der Ryst . He also revealed to Sedibeng Ster that the campaign is a runner-up to the December 16 Days Of Activism campaign.

“We appeal to the community to report these gender-based violence against women and children because clearly this affects our community. The problem is that the community does not come forward hence we embarked in this awareness campaign to encourage them to report such issues with police. Ours is to serve our community and protect them from all sort of crime, violence, assault and abuse especially against women and children,” he said.
Some of the community leaders who graced this campaign included Gender Based Violence Brigade Ambassador, Maditaba Mahlonoko, Warrant Officer Mokeka Nteso and Reggy Bodiba among the notable names. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Thoka hailed the campaign as a success and she believes that they will continue with the campaign with the festive season around the corner. She said the response was positive from the community as they went around dropping flyers door to door.
