VANDERBIJLPARK.- Prof Sebeela was overwhelmed by the attendance during the target shooting launch held at Hippo Greek Target Shooting Club in Vanderbijlpark recently.

This launch was attended by Bophelong High School learners who received free target shooting lessons from the Hippo Greek Club instructors. The five learners from the school were identified to be part of this newly introduced sport at school by Prof Sebeela and Wire Mokoena. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Sebeela said that the launch went well as the school learners enjoyed each an every moment of it.

The five learners were awarded with medals at the end the launch which also formed part of the training. Sebeela said that the learners impressed the instructors with their accuracy shooting, with 100% overall performance. This launch was also attended by the officials from the Department of Education to witness this new beginning as part of school sports.

“I was really impressed by how quickly these learners understood what was required from them in a short space of a day. Look, at the beginning they looked very nervous but eventually they started to enjoy each and every moment of it.

“We want to thank the Hippo Greek Target Shooting Club for their commitment in the development of our community. They never hesitated to help us when we approached them with this idea to start target shooting sports at school level. For now, we started with one school and we will be approaching other schools especially those from disadvantage areas.,” said Sebeela adding that some of the things that the learners who attended launch were taught include the different kinds of guns, and handling guns, amongst other things.
