Vaal Legends to give away T-shirts for support

This will be an ongoing process especially when we play home games to attract more support.”

BOPHELONG.- Vaal Legends FC gave away T-shirts to local soccer fans who came to watch their SAFA Sedibeng SAB League game against Young Pirates FC at Bophelong Stadium over the weekend.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, the club’s Chairman, Fatsi Motaung said that this will be an ongoing initiative especially when they play their home league games. He said that the aim is to promote the club’s brand and attract potential sponsorships and supporters. Motaung believes that to attract sponsorship and supporters to their matches, they must market the club’s brand and make it visible.

He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that there is a need for every club to market itself to attract sponsorship in the community. To date, Vaal Legends is one of the longest-existing clubs in Sedibeng, and the club uses the Bophelong Stadium for its official home games. Motaung further said that they will give away T-shirts to supporters on a first come, first serve basis when they play at home. He also told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the aim is to promote the club’s brand and have supporters attending their games.

“As Vaal Legends FC we want to promote the brand of the club and attract more supporters to our home league matches because we play our games on Sundays. We want to create an atmosphere where the community will come to watch the game on Sunday afternoons as used to be the case in the past. You can recall in the past the community used to pack the townships’ venues to capacity to watch their teams play on Sunday afternoon.”

“As Vaal Legends we want to bring those memories back to our football and giving the supporters T-shirts is not only to promote the club’s brand but also to appreciate their support. We want the Bophelong community to take ownership of the club because it belongs in the community.”

“Again, we want to take our club to the next level and make our brand known out there. We are an ambitious football club and we want to do things differently on and off the field hence we have decided to give our supporters the club’s T-shirts to wear whenever they come to our games.”
