Masiza’s family living in hell for the past 25 years

Masiza also said that she has done everything to get the attention of those in power, but with no success.

EATONSIDE.- Maki Masiza (52) and her family have lost hope after 25 years of water getting into their RDP house in Eatonside, Sebokeng.

With the recent heavy rains, Masiza said that the water and sewage run straight into her house because of the ditch that was left open by a tractor not far from her house. She told Sedibeng Ster that she reported this problem 25 years ago but still, to this day, nothing has been done except us receiving empty promises.

“I have tried everything, I even went to Check Point with the hope that the municipality will do something but I’m still living under the same conditions even today. It is raining and the water and sewage come straight to my house and my future is finished because of this. Please I’m begging you, help me because one of your former colleagues once wrote the story on Sedibeng Ster but nothing was done.”

“I’m pleading with Sedibeng Ster to communicate this message on my behalf to those who are in power because I went to everyone including the previous mayors. I became a laughing stock to some of them when I came to report this to them. I’m tired, I was 27 years old when this problem started, and now, I’m 52 and still experiencing the same problem,” she told Sedibeng Ster.

To make it worse, Masiza said they stay with a little baby who is two months in the house and she is suffering from never-ending flu. She said her furniture is finished because of this rain and sewage.
