SEDIBENG.- The highly spirited Banyana Banyana will play against Slovenia in their second game of Turkish Women’s Cup today, Tuesday.
Banyana Banyana come into this encounter with their confidence high after they beat Uzbekistan in their opening match played at Emirhan Sports Complex on Saturday night. This will be a test of character for Banyana Banyana who come up against the country that is ranked 46th while the South African women’s team is ranked 54th in the FIFA world women’s football ranking.
The game will take place at the same venue, Emirha Sports Complex, and the mood is very high in Banyana Banyana camp following their victory in their opening game. Banyana Banyana was outstanding with Jermaine Seoposenwe producing a five-star performance on the night.
Banyana Banyana Coach, Desiree Ellis was pleased with the team’s performance on the night even though she believes they could have scored more goals. Banyana Banyana was excellent on the night with the local fans rallying behind them.
“I’m happy with the results but I believe we could have scored more goals on the night because we were a better team on the night. Our next game against Slovenia is not going to be an easy game but I’m confident that this game will give us an idea as far as our progress is concerned in preparation for the Women’s World Cup,” said Ellis.
