MLM establishes Local Economic Development (LED) forum

MIDVAAL. – The Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM) MMC for Development and Planning, Mokete Motsamai recently held a meeting with Midvaal businesses and business representatives.

The meeting was held at the Meyerton Town Hall on Thursday(23 February). The objective of the meeting was to establish a Midvaal Local Economic Development (LED) forum.

According to Motsamai, the forum will serve as a platform for all businesses & LED key players to engage on economic development issues of Midvaal and to drive the shared economic agenda of Midvaal.

Motsamai says, “The engagement we had on the 9th of December 2022 with businesses and existing business structures in Midvaal, demonstrated the need for a coordinated approach to collaborate and engage with businesses to build the economy of Midvaal. We proposed the LED Forum as a coordinated structure that will represent all businesses and other LED stakeholders in economic development matters.

“Today, joined by the Acting Head of Department and the LED Section, we convened a session to establish a Midvaal LED Forum to achieve sustainable economic growth and development thereby bringing economic benefits and improved quality of life for our people.”
